Winter
meetings

During
the winter from October to March we meet on the second
Wednesday in each month at the Woodmansey Village Hall,
Long Lane Woodmansey. Meetings begin at 7.30 and take
around 2 hours. Our librarian Stewart usually attends and
brings along just a sample of our library of books and
videos. Members can contact Stewart to ask him to bring a
particular book along to the meeting. We have a small prize
raffle and a tea and coffee break to socialise part way
through the evening. New members or people just wanting to
find out more should contact any of the committee members
present on the night.

Annual
Auction

Every
year we have an auction of beekeeping equipment and often
colonies of bees. The 2008 auction took place at
Woodmansey Village Hall on 13th April and was well
attended by beekeepers from across Yorkshire with visitors
from Lincolnshire and further afield. Although there were
no bees for sale bidding was brisk and the 160 lots were
sold in around 2 and a half hours. We aim to have another
auction in Spring 2009 and details will be posted . If you
want to put any items in the sale please contact us as soon
as possible.
Summer Apiary Meetings
We hold meetings at members apiaries, often at their homes,
on a number of Saturday afternoons during the summer
starting at 2.00pm.There are practical demonstrations of
beekeeping, a chance to compare notes and we usually finish
off with tea, coffee and refreshments. A list of the summer
meetings is shown below. We always welcome new beekeepers
or people who just want to see inside a beehive for the
first time. If you do want to come along and would like
further details then contact the secretary
