Beverley Beekeepers' Association

The local Beekeeping Association for East Yorkshire
Beverley Parks

Our association teaching apiary is at the Millenium Orchard, Beverley Parks just off Long Lane near Beverley. The apiary is managed by a team of member volunteers and we keep around 4-6 hives there to be used for member demonstrations and to teach new beekeepers. The site is ideal with seclusion, protection from the wind and good space for teaching groups and individuals. There is a seasonal range of forage for the bees from Oil Seed Rape in the spring through to Ivy in the autumn.  Each summer we hold an  Open Day at Beverley Parks to demonstrate bees and beekeeping to local people. Visit the Open Day page to learn more.  The pictures in this section show a sequence of events as a hive is opened and examined at Beverley Parks by some of the volunteers. The story the pictures tell represents some of the activities that students on one of our courses might experience as they observe and then take part managing a colony of bees.
