Beverley Beekeepers’ Association, Beverley BKA, is one of the Districts of Yorkshire BKA. We cover the East Riding of Yorkshire and the City of Hull, an area stretching from Goole in the south west across the Wolds to Bridlington in the north east. We have a membership of around 170 active, retired, and trainee beekeepers.
The organisation of our Association is in the hands of a Management Committee, a small group of members elected each year at our AGM, who arrange the various beekeeping activities enjoyed by the membership.
Currently we have a Committee of eleven individuals. We hold monthly Committee Meetings on Monday evenings during the winter at The Altisidora public house in Bishop Burton. Meetings are friendly and informal and Association business is helped along by refreshments from the Altisidora’s excellent bar.
The Altisidora is well situated for our Committee members, being central to our catchment area, with good road connections and ample car parking. We are looking forward to taking advantage of the new meeting room facilities introduced by landlord Andy, as part of the Altisidora’s recent refurbishment.
It is always pleasant to meet with beekeeping colleagues and some of us have been members of the Committee for over a decade. However, all Committees benefit from new faces and new ideas. So we are always keen to encourage other members to participate in the Committee. So why not join us for a Monday evening’s beekeeping talk in the convivial surroundings of The Altisidora? Any member is welcome to attend just contact the secretary for details.
