Meet us.

Winter Meetings.

Hives in winter

From September/October to March we have monthly meetings on the second Monday of each month. The meetings are held at Woodmansey Village Hall, directions available here. The meetings start at 7:30pm and last from 2 to 3 hours depending on the content. There's always a tea break for some socialising, gossiping & browsing the library.

Many of the books, videos & DVDs we have are available for borrowing at these meetings. If there isn't a book you're after or you'd like to reserve a book for collection or bringing to the next meeting our librarian is on hand.

The Winter meeting usually consist of free lectures and talks covering the full range of Honey Bee & Beekeeping related subjects, usually provided by guest speakers from around the country. The talks are primarily aimed at improving our understanding of the Honey Bee, it's natural history, best practices in Beekeeping and management. We have a prize raffle at each meeting, all funds raised are used for the management of Beverley Beekeepers and the upkeep of our training and reproduction apiary.

Summer Meetings.

Apairy meeting

Summer time means we're very busy looking after our Honey Bees but we do have the occasional away day, morning or afternoon. This may be a visit to anywhere in East Yorkshire or the North of England.

An excellent way to see how colleagues operate, develop or show off your own ideas & skills and a good opportunity for 'borrowing' someone else's! Please understand that space will be limited in apiaries and therefore a cap on numbers is required. If you wish to attend any of the apiary meetings listed on the Events page please contact the Secretary.

Spring Auction.

Auction

Every Spring we have an Auction of Beekeeping equipment and even Bees. Refreshments available for as long as the preview and auction lasts.

All items can be viewed from 11am onwards with the auction kicking off at noon. As many items as we know of will be listed on the website as soon as we start receiving notification of items for sale.

If you wish to submit items for sale you must inform the Secretary prior to bringing anything. We operate strict policies on equipment hygiene and any Bees must be vetted by a Seasonal or Regional Bee Inspector before submission.

For further information & present Auction Guidelines are available for download as a pdf.    Auction Guidelines
